INDU KHURANA
I am an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Strategy at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia.
I completed my PhD in Economics, specializing in entrepreneurship, from Florida International University. I also have a Master of Philosophy and a Master of Commerce from the Delhi School of Economics.
In my research, I study how institutional environments and individual contexts influence entrepreneurial behavior. My work bridges macro-level forces—such as social welfare programs and policy uncertainty—with micro-level decision-making shaped by factors like time availability, gender, religion, education and socioeconomic background. I explore how these intersecting contexts enable or constrain the pursuit of entrepreneurial opportunities.
I am currently the Chair of the Teaching Committee for the Entrepreneurship Division at the Academy of Management, wherein I organize entrepreneurship pedagogy-focused events, connecting scholars and practitioners worldwide. Watch our latest sessions on AOM ENT Division’s YouTube page.
